Description:

A 3D topographic map of the Eastern USA is available within the app, allowing users to access vector map data without an internet connection. This versatile tool is suitable for various modes of transportation like car, boat, plane, or hiking, essentially putting over a third of the country in your pocket.

Scenic Map now encompasses worldwide coverage through online maps. Maps are automatically cached, ensuring usability even without cellular coverage. By enabling Online Map in the Settings menu, users can effortlessly navigate or pinpoint any location on the globe. The inclusion of satellite image overlays enhances map detail and realism significantly, uncovering hidden features often missed at ground level.

The app introduces innovative features enhancing user experience, such as a two-finger vertical swipe gesture to tilt the map for a 3D view and enabling Joystick Gestures for virtual joystick-controlled terrain exploration. Additionally, users have the option to switch between 2D and 3D maps based on preference.

Scenic Map stands out as a premier 3D topographic map on mobile devices, offering unparalleled detail and smooth navigation. Utilizing data from OpenStreetMap.org ensures up-to-date road and trail information, while detailed topographical features down to ten meters are visible as users zoom in. The map also includes various urban features, water bodies from USGS and Canadian databases, and continuously expanding points of interest.

Users can employ GPS tracking features to record routes, display existing tracks, and create automatic routes online. Unprecedented customization options allow users to personalize their map experience by toggling various elements such as roads, lighting direction, terrain shading, contour lines over satellite images, and more.

Exploring map features is made seamless through interactive elements like tapping the target icon to access detailed information about specific locations. The application further provides helpful documentation within the Help section for user reference.

Noteworthy is the support for GPS tracking in the background allowing users to track their location continuously. It is important to note that prolonged use of GPS in the background may impact battery life significantly.
